Underrated Actor

William Holden is one of the most underrated actors of Hollywood. Evidence by far is that this is the only book on his life. The book is a heartfelt tribute to what appears to be a caring, thoughtful and professional actor who always remembered the ensemble of people who helped him reach stardom. It is also a very sad tale of a person who never overcame his demons and was finally killed by them. His life and career were cut short and it is our loss.

You Won't Be Able to Put This Book Down!

This was an extremely well-written biography of actor William Holden. His life was just unbelievable. He packed more exciting activity into his life than any other actor I've ever read about. This guy was a phenomenal actor, having received one Oscar and nominated for several others. However, I'm not so sure his family life was not impacted by his independent and strong-willed lifestyle. This guy got around. He traveled everywhere around the world, and had lots of lady friends who were also prominent and high profile Hollywood actresses. My impression is that he was a very intelligent professional actor, and had high standards for himself and expected the same from fellow actors and actresses. He wasn't reluctant to let them know when they didn't meet those standards, either. His only failing was his addiction to alcohol, which he battled right up until the end of his life.
This book will keep you up at night reading to the end. His life was just too exciting not to get caught up in it. Excellent writing by
Mr. Thomas. Buy this book, and you wont' regret it!

Golden Boy A Good Read

Author gave a well rounded and vivid description in describing the life and personality of William Holden. His movies and personal circumstances revealed much about him in general. It was an interesting journey to read.
